Share your stories about good or bad health information.

Have you or a family member been mislead and suffered at the hands of poor quality health information online or in leaflets? Or have you or your family’s health been improved by good quality health information online or in leaflets? Either way, The Information Standard wants to hear from you.

There is wealth of health and social care information now available to the public online and in leaflets. But, with so much out there, it can be difficult to know whether information is trustworthy or not. The Information Standard, an independent scheme supported by the Department of Health for health and social care information, is trying to establish how many people are affected by this issue. It also hopes to gauge how people are benefiting from good quality information and what damage has been done as a result of poor quality health information.

If you have a story to tell about good or bad information, or would simply like to let The Information Standard scheme know your thoughts on the issue of quality health information then email – informationstandard@capita.co.uk. By the latest 1st July 2012

National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society is a member of The Information Standard. Any organisation that produces health and social care information can apply to join the scheme. If an organisation successfully meets the quality criteria of the standard and becomes certified then it can place the quality mark on its' materials. The quality mark is a quick and easy way for the public to identify reliable and trustworthy sources of information.
